The 3AM Test: The Invisible Programming Running My Life
The 3AM Test: The Invisible Programming Running My Life
July 23, 2025

New Years Eve, 2019, 3am. I'm lying in bed, feeling dismay over my situation. I hadn't walked in two months due to an accident where I shattered my tibia.
I had just gotten married and now put my family in financial vulnerability. Not being able to walk meant I couldn't go to my event jobs. As an event producer, my work required me to be on site. No exceptions.
As I lay there at 3am, I started questioning my career and what led me to that moment. Don't get me wrong—I loved what I did. But I realized it had made me vulnerable to financial uncertainty. This accident made that point clear.
More importantly, it forced me to ask a bigger question: what am I really doing with my life?
When Reality Hits
I began searching for answers about the way my mind works. I started questioning the choices I had made earlier in life and realizing the limitations of those choices.
This caused me to question my assumptions about myself and what I was offering to the world. While I had explored meditation and subconscious material in the past, it dawned on me that there may be limitations about myself buried deep in my subconscious.
That 3am moment started me searching online for answers.
When the Universe Forces a Pause
Then came something unexpected. Just as I got clearance to walk again in mid-March 2020, COVID hit and the event industry shut down.
But here's the thing—I wasn't disappointed. The accident had caused me to question my existence, my reason for being in the business I was in. Those five months of being unable to walk had forced me to confront deeper questions: What was possible for my life? What was my real purpose on earth to my fellow humans? To my family? To my clients? To the world?
So when the event world disappeared, it was a continuation of the deep work I'd started during that 3am moment. Both the accident and COVID turned out to be blessings in disguise. They forced me to stop and analyze what I was doing.
I'd begun the process of being of greater service to my fellow humans, and a vision for something bigger began to grow.
The Deeper Why
Then in the fall of 2020, I lost my younger brother to self-destructive behavior. As I processed that loss, it dawned on me that maybe he had subconscious issues that drove him to make choices that caused his death.
That realization hit me hard. If subconscious programming could be that powerful—even destructive—what was mine doing to my life? What invisible limitations were driving millions of other people toward smaller lives than they were meant to live?
The Cold Truth
As I went down this journey of exploring my mind and assumptions, I came to a plain, cold realization: the results of my life were due to subconscious programming I didn't even know existed.
Here's what most people don't realize: your subconscious runs 90% of your life.
The limitations I discovered weren't physical barriers. They were mental ones I had accepted as reality. Stories I had bought wholesale about what was possible for myself. Ceilings I had unconsciously accepted.
Most of us are walking around with invisible limitations we don't even see. We stop dreaming certain dreams because of self-perceived limitations. We accept portions of our lives as unchangeable facts.
Breaking Free to Serve Others
This period in 2020 started me down a path I'm still on today. The results of taking that journey have created positive outcomes in my life. Most importantly, it gave me freedom on many levels—the freedom to be myself.
This process caused me to take my energy, experience, skills and talents and put them into a platform for others to express themselves and make greater impact in their lives and businesses.
I coined this approach "Your Purpose Is Your Power."
The Movement Begins
On its most basic level, we want to help people express themselves in an authentic way that connects them with their fellow humans. As applied to business, we've found that authentic connection through video is the most efficient, natural and honest way of connecting with customers.
We've had results with clients who are willing to step outside their comfort zones and share their genuine selves.
What I've discovered is that most of us have invisible limitations we don't even recognize. Stories we've accepted about what's possible. Programming that keeps us from expressing who we really are.
Maybe you have your own version of invisible barriers holding you back from the impact you're meant to make.
Your 3AM Test
When you're alone with your thoughts in the quiet hours, what dreams do you stop dreaming because of self-perceived limitations? How much of your life do you accept as unchangeable when it's programmable?
Your life right now isn't just a set of facts. You're living out the stories your subconscious is creating for you. And those stories can be rewritten.
I've built an easy-to-follow framework for those interested in exploring this for themselves. These prompts will guide you into answering questions about why you got started in your journey and what drives you.
This interactive framework helps you craft and build a story that will help you better connect with your customers and—more importantly—with your authentic self.
Because once you remove those invisible barriers, you can be of real service, helping others in the way you're meant to.
Your purpose truly becomes your power.
